PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 24 January 2009
The Lincoln Democratic Town Committee held its biennial organizational meeting on January 14, 2009. The Committee elected Timothy E. McMahon as its Chairperson, Joseph Paiva as Vice Chairperson and Amy Vogel as its Treasurer.
Chairman McMahon stated there is “great excitement among the members about the direction we have chosen to follow over the next few years.” McMahon went on to state that there are “over 4,200 Democrats in Lincoln and we intend to reach out to all of them as well as Democrats in the Representative and Senatorial districts that include Lincoln . We'll also begin actively building strategic alliances with our elected officials at the state level in an effort to insure the lines of communication are always open and mutual respect is continually building.”
Acknowledging the Committee has a great deal of work ahead of it, McMahon said that he “hasn't see members express this level of enthusiasm – or willingness to embrace the work ahead of them – in a long time”.
“I'm deeply honored to have been chosen to lead this group”, stated McMahon “and will do everything in my power to help this Committee succeed. Thankfully, I have a great leadership group and an outstanding set of members – and that's half the battle.”
